Landlord/Tenant Information

Many resources are available to landlords and tenants regarding best practices for renting or leasing out rental units. Is it important that both landlords and tenants know their rights and understand the terms of the rental agreement. The Housing and Building department is unable to be involved in disputes between landlords and tenants; however, we can provide guidance and resources so that both parties may have a more positive experience living in the Village of Newburgh Heights.

All rental properties in the Village of Newburgh Heights must have a rental permit. To obtain a rental permit, the Housing and Building Department must have inspected all rental units at the property. An inspection report, or rental permit, from the landlord should be available upon request. Prospective tenants should contact the Housing and Building Department before signing a rental agreement to verify that a Rental Permit has been issued.
