Board of Zoning Appeals
The Board of Zoning Appeals hears and decide appeals made for exceptions and variances in the application of ordinances governing zoning and building in the Village of Newburgh Heights. Appeals are heard relating to the location, design, materials, construction, alteration, repair, equipment, use or occupancy, maintenance, removal or demolition of any building or other structure or any appurtenance connected or attached to such buildings or structures, regulated by the Building Code. The Board of Zoning Appeals, consisting of five (5) residents of the Village of Newburgh Heights, meet every third Thursday of the month unless there is no business to conduct. Public notification of Board of Zoning Appeals meetings is posted 14 days in advance of the hearing in the local newspaper, on the village of Newburgh Heights website and posted on the front door of Village Hall. Board of Zoning Appeals Applications must be submitted to the Building Department, along with any required fees, within 21 days of the regularly scheduled Board of Zoning Appeals Meeting. Applicants will be notified regarding the date, time and place of the hearing.
