We have outlined our mission, vision and values below and we hold these in high regard to strive for greatness in all that we do.
We subscribe to the “Community Oriented Policing” philosophy and therefore the primary focus of our agency involves community service. Our officers take a problem-solving approach to situations encountered on a day-to-day basis and work toward interacting with residents and visitors to address relevant concerns.

Mission Statement
It is the mission of the Newburgh Heights Police Department to provide the Village of Newburgh Heights, its residents and visitors with professional quality police service through positive interaction with citizens.
What we seek to do and to become is the focus of our mission statement. A mission statement also allows us to maintain direction, eliminate complacency, and remain focused on our goals.
Vision Statement
Our vision is to help reduce crime by community partnerships with citizens, businesses, elected officials and other federal, state and local agencies.
We realize the partnerships to be the cornerstone of success and value the relationships we have.
Values
We believe in professionalism at the NHPD. We are committed to the highest degree of professionalism and hold our members to high standard of conduct.
These values also include:
Obedience: recognizing our authority is derived from the people we serve.
Integrity: the duty to be honest, fair and accountable
Excellence: we will always strive to do our best and continually work to improve the department, the
community and ourselves.
Even if we err, we will have to courage to acknowledge our mistake, take the appropriate corrective actions to ensure it is not repeated.
